Few people know Awana as well as Larry Fowler. Larry has served the ministry as a club director, missionary, curriculum writer, program developer, author, conference speaker, youth pastor, Bible teacher, director of International Ministries, director of U.S. Program and currently Executive Director of Global Training. Recently Larry used his more than a quarter-century of service in Awana to write Rock-Solid Kids. Outside of Awana, Larry is passionate about healthy marriages and has taught seminars on the Song of Solomon to couples' groups in both the U.S. and overseas. Larry and his wife, Diane, have two children and seven grandchildren.
Linda Weddle is a gifted teacher, speaker and writer. She has published 12 books and more than 2,500 articles, stories, devotionals and radio scripts. Linda has worked on all of the Awana programs, writing junior-high curriculum, the Cubbies preschool program, camp materials, a Journey high-school main study, and most of the T&T third- through sixth-grade books. She helped develop the Puggles program for toddlers and was the team leader for the new Sparks program. She also has been involved in the biblical worldview research Awana has done in the last five years. Linda has been involved in every area of Awana from clubber to leader, which includes earning her Citation Award. She has two grown children, also Citation achievers, and six grandchildren, all who attend Awana. She lives in suburban Chicago.
Kevin White is director of youth ministries for Awana, where he works with a phenomenal team to promote and develop 24-7 Ministries. Prior to joining Awana, Kevin served as a youth pastor and volunteered with a national youth ministry. He is a member of the Christian Management Association, the Association of Youth Ministry Educators, the Gospel Music Association, the National Network of Youth Ministries, and the American Marketing Association. He is Youth Specialties CORE Certified and is currently a continuing education student at Moody Bible Institute. He and his wife, Robyn, are small-group leaders and coaches in their local church. They live with their daughter in suburban Chicago.
Celebrating 30 years of family music ministry, Mary Rice Hopkins has captured the hearts of children and grown-ups alike. Her simple yet profound melodies can be heard throughout the world, now being translated into Spanish and Russian. An author of 6 children's books, her works also include over twenty albums, 5 videos, 4 DVD's, and 6 sets of Bible-based curriculum. For the last 10 years Mary has devoted more time to Christian Educators knowing the important role they play in the lives of children. Mary lives in Southern California with her husband and two children.
For over 30 years Darcie Maze has captivated the hearts of children and adults with her exceptional gift of puppetry. In addition, she is known nationally for her teacher-training workshops and seminars, crossing many denominational lines. However, Darcie is best known for designing her own distinctive line of puppets that are found in over 150 countries. One of her puppets is currently seen on the Cartoon Network.
