How are Awana missionaries supported?
As we travel across the state we are often asked questions about our support. Awana missionaries are faith missionaries, supported totally by donations from the churches and individuals in the area where we serve. We are trusting God to provide full financial support from the Lord's people; we do not receive any of the funds that churches spend on supplies or uniforms.
As missionaries we are responsible to raise sufficient funds from our region to provide for ministry expenses and a family living allowance. Ministry expenses include travel, supplies, postage, and office expenses. The family living allowance includes a salary and housing allowance. All support funds are the property of AWANA Clubs International; when you send a check to Awana to help the work here in Ohio, the funds are deposited into an account for the specific use of one of our missionaries. The money is allocated each month to provide for our expenses.
AWANA Clubs International does not keep any of the funds for administrative use. We tithe 10% of the money we receive to be used to help new Awana missionaries get started.
Support checks should be made out to "Awana" and should be sent to Awana headquarters in Streamwood Illinois. Such funds can only be used to further the tax-exempt purpose of Awana and cannot be used for the personal benefit of the missionary.
We are always here to help you! If you would like us to visit your church and present our ministry please contact us.
